Taste and use
This is what makes Sicilian organic pomegranates so special:
- Taste: The "Jolly Red" variety is a rather mild and sweet pomegranate variety.
- Quality features: Freshly harvested, straight into your hands. These pomegranates are completely untreated.
- Use: Pomegranate seeds go well in muesli, mixed with other fruits in a fruit salad or as a sweet and sour addition to cous cous. Pomegranates can easily be stored at room temperature for several days and even for several weeks in the fridge. The outer skin loses its moisture during storage and may become wrinkly. However, the seeds inside remain juicy.
Cultivation and ecology
This is how pomegranates are grown:
- Cultivation method: Organic farming.
- Producers: Calogero Noto runs a small farm with grapes, olives and pomegranates in Camporeale. Due to a lack of purchase, the land was hardly cultivated any more. The cooperation with Valdibella has made it worthwhile for him to cultivate the land and sell his products again. Valdibella uses the "Addio Pizzo" label to declare that it does not pay protection money to criminal organizations.

Since I've been able to enjoy your pomegranates, I've never considered any others, the dry spell is long, but it's always worth it. Every single pomegranate was wholesome, fresh, juicy and simply divine in flavor. They keep well in the cellar. I'm already looking forward to next year.
