Taste and use
That's what makes these Swiss high-stem plums so special:
- Taste: The late-ripening high-stem "Hauszwetschgen" plums are sweet and aromatic. The fruits have a good balance of sugar and acidity and stand out clearly from other plums with their excellent aroma.
- Quality features: Harvested the day before, delivered to you the next day. These plums are completely untreated.
- Use: For eating fresh or preserving. The plums are ripe and should be eaten quickly.
Cultivation and ecology
This is how Swiss high-stem plums are grown:
- Cultivation method: Organic cultivation, to 100% high trunk trees, produced according to the guidelines of High stem Suisse. The plums grow on a meadow orchard with over 250 trees of different fruit varieties. The trees are not sprayed - not even with the products permitted in organic farming, such as copper and sulphur. Oxen graze under the trees. The cultivation of sunflowers, buckwheat, millet and other crops are also part of the diverse farm.
- Producers: Together with his family, Reto Hagen runs his 30-hectare farm in Uerschhausen TG.
