This is what makes Sicilian "Navelina" oranges so special:

• Taste: The "Navelina" is a fine edible orange with a beautiful balance of sweetness and acidity.
• Quality features: These completely untreated organic oranges come fresh from the harvest and straight into your hands without any intermediaries. To avoid the standardization mania, we supply you with mixed sizes and shapes of oranges and declare them on the crate as "not calibrated - second category".
• Use: Check the oranges and eat any slightly damaged fruit first. Stored in a cool place, e.g. with a blanket as frost protection on the balcony, the oranges will keep for several weeks.

Cultivation and ecology

This is how the Sicilian "Navelina" oranges are grown:

• Cultivation method: Organic farming.
• Producers: Die Orangen stammen vom kleinen Hof von Francesco Grisafi im Westen von Sizilien. Neben verschiedenen Zitrusfrüchte baut er auch die Mandeln für unser Basilikum-Pesto an. Zusätzlich zu seiner landwirtschaftlichen Tätigkeit arbeitet er als Lehrer. Francesco ist Mitglied von Valdibella, unserer Partnerkooperative des Vertrauens auf Sizilien.
