Taste and use
This is what makes organic high-stem apples so special:
- Taste: Discover the flavor of different varieties of high-stem apples. The older the trees, the more intense their flavor.
- Quality features: Freshly harvested, straight into your hands.
- Use: Most apples can be stored for a few days to several weeks. First consume the apples that show slight damage or brown spots.
Cultivation and ecology
This is how the high-stem apples are grown:
- Cultivation method: Organic farming. Produced according to the guidelines of High stem Suisse.
- Producers: Christoph Rickenbach from Riedackerhof and the Studer family from Benkenjoch. In addition to many high-stem trees, cattle are also reared on both organic farms.
Christoph Rickenbach receives CHF 4.5 per kilo of high-stem apples. That is more than twice as much as in organic wholesale.
