Taste and use
This is what makes coconut milk from Kerala so special:
- Taste: The coconut milk has a creamy consistency and a fruity, nutty taste.
- Quality features: 100% of the milk is obtained from fresh coconuts and diluted with water. The fat content is 18%. Our coconut milk contains no additives. Coconut milk is a healthy source of nutrients and vitamins.
- Use: Coconut milk is added at the end of the cooking process to give your curry a tropical touch, but it can also be used as a milk substitute in baking or in smoothies.
Cultivation and ecology
This is how the coconuts are grown:
- Cultivation method: Cultivation in multi-stage agroforestry systems, without the use of pesticides. The coconuts grow in the beautiful forest gardens of our partners in Kerala. In addition to coconut palms, various spices, cashews, cocoa, coffee, fruit and vegetables also grow in their fields. This type of agriculture protects biodiversity and is also climate-friendly: a lot of CO2 is stored in the soil and in the trees and there is almost no need for aids such as machines and fertilizers.
- Producers: The small farms of the members of the "Fair Trade Alliance Kerala" are on average just one hectare in size. The farmers grow a wide variety of products for export, for the local village markets, but also for themselves. Many have an additional income because family members work in the city or even abroad and support the farming families. The coconuts are processed by Healthy and Smart Agro Products, which guarantees the traceability of the coconuts.
This is how the price is made up
The producers receive USD 0.65 per kilogram of fresh coconuts. We pay USD 12.50 per liter of coconut milk.

I can only agree with Brigitte Arnold, this coconut milk from Kerala really cannot be beaten by any other organic coconut milk available in health food stores.

Incredibly delicious! I did the experiment: the same dessert, once with the coconut milk from Kerala and once with the organic coconut milk from the health food store. No comparison - I will probably only use the coconut milk from the health food store in an emergency...
